UNICEF welcomes announcement of next Executive Director
UNICEF welcomed the UN Secretary-General’s announcement that Anthony Lake will take over as Executive Director of UNICEF after Ann M. Veneman’s term ends on April 30. "Mr. Lake's abilities and extensive experience, including on the Board of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, well-equip him to lead the global agenda for children," said Veneman.

2010 UNICEF Tap Project launches to help provide safe water to children worldwide
Now in its fourth year, the UNICEF Tap Project, a grassroots initiative from the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, returns to cities nationwide during World Water Week 2010 (March 21-27). The UNICEF Tap Project invites individuals to donate $1 or more for tap water at participating restaurants or online at tapproject.org to provide clean water to children around the world.

UNICEF and the Boston Celtics team up for "A Night for Haiti;" Boston Celtics to receive UNICEF honor
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF will honor the Boston Celtics with its Children’s Champion Award at A Night for Haiti on March 25 at the House of Blues. The event, co-chaired by Tiffany Ortiz and Brandi Garnett, will feature a reception, a special performance by Boyz II Men, a live auction with special guest auctioneer Boston Celtics Forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis, and an award presentation to the Boston Celtics.

UNICEF's Change for Good® program on American Airlines collects a record-breaking $1.2 million in 2009
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF proudly announced today that its alliance with American Airlines through UNICEF’s Change for Good® program raised more than $1.2 million in 2009. More donations were collected in 2009 than in any other year of the 15-year history of Change for Good on American Airlines, exceeding the 2009 goal. All funds collected will enable UNICEF to provide children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education and emergency relief.
